PROVO - September 08, 2006 - Brigham Young University placed physics professor Steven Jones on paid leave Thursday while it reviews his involvement in the so-called "9/11 truth movement" that accuses unnamed government agencies of orchestrating the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on the World Trade Center.

Steven Jones BYU will conduct an official review of Jones' actions before determining a course of action, university spokeswoman Carri Jenkins said. Such a review is rare for a professor with "continuing status" at BYU, where Jones has taught since 1985.

Jones was teaching two classes this semester, which began Tuesday. Other professors will cover those classes, and Jones will be allowed to continue to do research in his area of academic study, Jenkins said.

Jones became a celebrity among 9/11 conspiracy-theory groups after he wrote a paper titled "Why Indeed Did the World Trade Center Buildings Collapse?" The paper was published two weeks ago in the book "9/11 and American Empire: Intellectuals Speak Out" and lays out Jones' hypothesis that the three towers fell because of pre-positioned demolition charges — not because of the planes that hit two of the towers.

When Jones began to share his demolition theory publicly last fall, he politely declined to speculate about who set the charges other than to say terrorist groups couldn't have been the source.

Then, later, he started to speak publicly about research conducted at BYU on materials from ground zero. He said he found evidence of thermite — a compound used in military detonations — in the materials.

IN RECENT WEEKS, AFTER BECOMING THE CO-CHAIRMAN OF THE GROUP SCHOLARS FOR 9/11 TRUTH, JONES SEEMED WILLING TO GO FURTHER, IMPLICATING UNNAMED GOVERNMENT GROUPS BUT NOT PRESIDENT BUSH.

The Deseret Morning News requested a statement from the university Wednesday afternoon for a story it was preparing on Jones and his high-profile role in the 9/11 truth movement. University officials informed Jones of the decision to place him on leave Thursday afternoon and released a statement to the newspaper Thursday night.

"BYU has repeatedly said that it does not endorse assertions made by individual faculty," the statement said. "We are, however, concerned about the increasingly speculative and accusatory nature of these statements by Dr. Jones."

Last fall, BYU faculty posted statements on the university Web site that questioned whether Jones subjected the paper to rigorous academic peer review before he posted it at physics.byu.edu.

JONES REMOVED THE PAPER FROM BYU'S WEB SITE THURSDAY AT THE UNIVERSITY'S REQUEST.

Efforts to reach Jones prior to press time Thursday night were not successful. He later declined comment. Jones told the Deseret Morning News on Wednesday that his paper had gone through an unusual third round of peer review in what is now an apparently unsuccessful effort to quell concerns on campus.

"BYU remains concerned that Dr. Jones' work on this topic has not been published in appropriate scientific venues," the university statement said.

Jenkins said BYU's reputation was a consideration, too.

"It is a concern when faculty bring the university name into their own personal matters of concern," she said.

Jones, also known for his cold fusion research, provided academic clout to the 9/11 truth movement. C-SPAN repeatedly broadcast a conference that featured Jones this summer. Recent articles about Sept. 11 conspiracy theories that focused at least in part on Jones have appeared in the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Guardian in London and other publications.

Recent rebuttals to the demolition theory have been released by the State Department and the National Institute of Standards and Technology, which published a 10,000-page report on the towers' collapse.

A modified version of Jones' paper was scheduled to be published this week in the online Journal of 9/11 Studies. Jones is a co-editor of the journal.

BYU does not grant tenure, generally regarded as a permanent position, to professors. However, it does give continuing status to professors found worthy after six years on campus.

"Continuing status," Jenkins said, "grants the expectation that faculty members will have continuing employment at the university, although it is not a guarantee. They still need to meet satisfactory performance levels for scholarship, citizenship and teaching."

The review will be conducted at three levels by the administration, the College of Physical and Mathematical Sciences and the Physics Department.

FPF/Europe - Sunday Sept. 10 - 2006 - In a very short article in the US propaganda outlet Forbes, former US secretary of state Henry Kissinger was asked how the 9/11 massacre and the demolotion of the WTC towers had affected his world. There is no mention of the fact that Kissinger - who is best described as a 'one-man-axis-of-evil' - the very same day, and among others via the US war propaganda channel CNN - advocated the use of nuclear weapons against the evil perpetrators. Following the advice he would have to commit suicide and would have lost 99% of his co-criminals.

Concerning him, many probably remember what Tom Lehrer - one of the best critical american troubadours - said: "Political satire became obsolete when they awarded Henry Kissinger the Nobel Peace Prize." - And, as a longtime foreign correspondent in Scandinavia also covering those events, I know the 'very underreported' fact that Kissinger did not even dare to pick up the Nobel Prize in Norway's capital Oslo. He would have been lynched or at least arrested if he had survived the rightful anger.*

"THIS IS COMPARABLE TO PEARL HARBOR AND WE MUST HAVE THE SAME RESPONSE"

And, as so much saved from the mainstream's 'Memory Hole' in investigative journalism files, there's another perfect example of this war criminal's narrow-minded way of thinking, a comment which was given the day his cabal's inside job struck in New York and Washington on 9/11, 2001. Kissinger - who had a hell of an alibi - was in Germany, and was asked by one of the worst propaganda outlets of the US/Israeli war machine - CNN - to comment - in the PNAC's ongoing media campaign concerning the 9/11 disaster: "This is comparable to Pearl Harbor, and we must have the same response. The people who did it must have the same end as the people who attacked Pearl Harbor,'' Kissinger told CNN, referring to to nuclear bombs dropped unnecessarily by th US on Nagasaki and Hiroshima to 'punish' the Japanese.*

Advocating the use nuclear weapons of mass destruction is inhumane and as shortsighted as a mole. Kissinger alone has nearly totally wrecked what was left of the acceptable image the U.S. globally - thanks to the Hollywood pimps and other brainwashing - ever had. Scientists, diplomats, former politicians, the real journalists and many others in the US* - and globally hundreds of millions of people - know and have seen the logical proof that 9/11 was a perfidious inside job, to advance the international bank's crazies 'Project for a New American Century'. (PNAC)* The inhuman agenda for global US/Israeli hegemony.

HE SUPPORTS THE GLOBAL 'STATE TERROR' BY THE US/ISRAELI WAR MACHINE

Kissinger - as the really bad genius of the 'Project for a New American Century' - in the Forbes interview formulates this as follows: "Terror is the use of force by a non-state body that is designed to bring about change by force and is designed to bring great fear to the general public. I reject claims that Israel, for example, is using terrorism against Lebanon. It is reacting to terrorism. A country can fight without committing terrorist acts - otherwise, almost all military acts committed by a state could be considered to be terrorist acts." - Confirming that he supports the global 'state terror' by the US/Israeli war machine. The Israeli invasion of Lebanon was a genocide.*

When the ''change by force'' was not going fast enough and the quagmire in the Mideast grew, the PNAC's war propaganda sheet The New York Times published triumphantly the big step in the PNAC's damage control: "Kissinger to Lead 9/11 Inquiry" it's headlines read on Nov. 27th in 2002: "President Bush today named Henry A. Kissinger, a Republican who has been one of the most respected but polarizing figures in foreign policy and Washington for more than three decades, to lead an independent investigation into the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. Mr. Bush made the appointment as he signed legislation creating the commission, a step he came to support after opposing the bill for much of the year partly on the ground that it could divert attention from the war on terrorism. Democratic leaders in Congress, who will appoint half of the 10 members of the commission, immediately named George J. Mitchell, the former Senate majority leader and peace envoy to Northern Ireland and the Middle East, as vice chairman."

Those names are top of the list for the coming war crimes tribunals. But, the outcry against his criminal activities became too much, and CNN had to announce that Kissinger was forced to resign as head of 9/11 commission on Friday, December 13, 2002.*

THE WORLD IS IN THE WORST TURMOIL EVER BECAUSE OF THEIR 'PROJECT'

And even now in 2006, when he has helped to burn down the whole inhuman façade of their 'Project for a New American Century' - thousands of innocent people are dying daily in many countries, the world is in the worst turmoil ever because of their 'Empire Project' and the US together with Israel are the most despised countries on earth, Kissinger still says that: "The neoconservative agenda has not died since, and some of its essential elements remain important. We are still living the effects of Sept. 11 and will continue to be in the midterm time range. We are still seeing its effects, both on America and on global geopolitics."

This war criminality in Kissinger is an instinct apparently. He said the same in 1975 about the illegal war and genocide in Vietnam and the rest of South East Asia as now about Iraq, pleading in the Senate: "Should [people] in their hour of extremity be told by the United States that while they want to continue fighting that the United States would no longer help them?" - The US management 'lost' in Vietnam and is losing now again: the legally and globally fully justified resistance against the US/Israeli war machine grinds it to a halt. Whether it's Afghanistan, Iraq or Lebanon.

The resistance is fully understandable and correct: there is no country in the whole world where the local people feel 'helped' by the US/Israeli junta or it's management. Being 'democratized' or 'liberated' by the US/Israeli war machine is what most people fear most.

This beastly PNAC group has no friends: only interests.

And they have a deadly effect on us, humanity.

That's why they must be stopped.
